Breaking Barriers: A Journey Towards Inclusive Air Travel
InterVISTAS Consulting Inc., joined forces with PAFN members in collaboration with Helijet to enhance helicopter travel accessibility for individuals with varying abilities, both visible and invisible.
Eleven participants along with staff embarked on a journey from the Helijet Vancouver terminal, immersing themselves in every aspect of the travel process. Their firsthand encounters aimed to elevate the travel experience for all, ensuring that dreams of flight can soar unhindered.
As a parent advocate himself, Kirk Goodlet, Senior Director for InterVISTAS Consulting Inc., resonates deeply with PAFN's mission, recognizing the significance of their partnership in shaping a more inclusive future.
Danny Sitnam, CEO of Helijet, expressed gratitude for the partnership with PAFN, acknowledging the importance of incorporating diverse perspectives into their Accessibility Action Plan. "Helijet is pleased to have feedback from families and participants with lived experience so we can improve inclusivity in all of our terminals, workplaces and aircraft," Sitnam explains.
The collaborative efforts of Helijet, InterVISTAS, and PAFN underscore a shared commitment to breaking barriers and fostering meaningful mobility. Through dedication to inclusivity, the groups pave the way for a transportation system that embraces diversity and ensures that everyone is welcomed to journey with comfort and consideration.
